Hiking and mountain biking
Fans of hiking can enjoy pleasant, easy walks around shepherd’s huts with the possibility of tasting local, traditional and fresh dairy products, typical architecture of the surrounding towns untouched by time and family cafes, pastry shops, bakeries and restaurants.
You need a bit of courage to visit the nearby Kitzlochklamm mountain gorge. You can go treasure hunting in the golden valley of the Alps and head to Kolm Saigurn with views of the valley’s dominant peak, the 3,106 m high Hohen Sonnblick, home to Europe’s highest and longest-running meteorological observatory. There are many high-altitude marked paths leading to it, as well as to other peaks in the vicinity. All of them are a pleasure to complete if you are in good physical condition and have the appropriate equipment.
It doesn’t matter if you go on a leisurely bike ride through the valley or climb the surrounding hills of the Hohe Tauern on a mountain or electric bike. The selection of marked routes is so large and varied that everyone will find something for themselves!
